March 19, 2015 - Today Federal, State and local officials joined together with EaglePicher Technologies, LLC, and their honored guests to officially break ground on the Lithium Ion Center for Excellence. EaglePicher is the leading producer of batteries and energetic devices for the defense, space and commercial industries.
This expansion comes as a result from the $22 million award in funding by the U.S. Department of Defense for military-related applications. This 100,000-plus square-foot facility will be built as an expansion to our current facility housed at the Crossroads Industrial Park in Joplin, Missouri, housing state-of-the-art equipment and production areas to accommodate the large-scale production of Lithium-ion cells and batteries for U.S. Military critical applications.
