EaglePicher’s work in pyrotechnic energetic devices dates back to the 1960s with the production of gas generators for reserve Silver-Zinc batteries. A progression of developments for the energetics technology followed, including IR beacons in the 1970s, and igniters in the ‘80s. As energetics work expanded in the 1980s and ‘90s in support of the company’s thermal and Silver-Zinc battery manufacturing, offerings eventually included actuators, bellows, bottle cutters, explosive leads, detonators, and lanyard start assemblies culminating into today’s diverse product offering.

EaglePicher is investing in high-volume production capabilities within our Energetics business, with a focus on automation and continuous improvement initiatives. In addition, we’ve undertaken development activities with Naval Sea Systems Command’s CAD/PAD program office, to assist with sustaining fleet readiness for multiple US airframes. EaglePicher has qualified and currently manufactures CAD/PAD energetic devices, and next assembly designs utilizing our thermal batteries.

We are committed to growing our support for critical ejection seat components and other NAVSEA energetic demands. In response to growing market demands, the Company is self-investing in a state-of-the-art production facility for the Energetics business. This facility will open in Q1 of 2026 and enable the company to add next assembly CAD/PAD product lines, while meeting increasing DoD demand for legacy energetic material.
