Lithium Ion Cells
Lithium ion provides higher energy levels and a longer cycle life, at a lower weight and smaller volume, with less maintenance than lead-acid, Ni-Cd or Ni-MH batteries. This is a benefit for your launch vehicle.
Silver Zinc Technology
With more than 50 years of silver-zinc battery production heritage and more than 200 battery designs, we continue to produce reliable, complex systems for the aerospace industry. EaglePicher's silver-zinc batteries used on launch vehicles have a long active life and offer flexible configurations to meet various packaging requirements. Silver-zinc batteries continue to be used to power multiple systems on launch vehicles. The main and pyro batteries for the Atlas V Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle and the Flight Termination System batteries for both Atlas V and Delta II/IV are silver-zinc batteries designed by EaglePicher for high power and energy density, and ruggedized to endure the vibration environments of a launch vehicle.
