EaglePicher Names Dr. Rob Gitzendanner Technical Fellow

St. Louis, MO – EaglePicher, a leading innovator and producer of battery power systems, today announced the appointment of Dr. Rob Gitzendanner to the role of Technical Fellow.
 
In this new position, Dr. Gitzendanner will play a crucial role in shaping EaglePicher's technical direction and aligning our technology strategy with the needs of our customers. With responsibility for providing technical guidance across our entire product portfolio, Dr. Gitzendanner will help ensure EaglePicher remains at the forefront of technology development for cell chemistries and fully integrated power systems. Moreover, his role will directly impact our customer relationships and contribute to the development of both short and long-term technology strategies.

Dr. Gitzendanner began his career as a research scientist and quickly became involved in the development of lithium-ion batteries for numerous aerospace applications. He went on to be the lead project engineer on the Mars Lander battery development, which resulted in the development and qualification of the first lithium-ion battery for a NASA space mission. Dr. Gitzendanner led many military and aerospace programs, including the NASA Orion Crew Module, B-2 Bomber and Global Hawk unmanned aerial vehicle.
 
Dr. Gitzendanner holds a Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from Cornell University where he studied intercalation materials and materials synthesis. He has received numerous awards and recognition for his technical contributions; authoring various technical publications and is a member of several industry organizations.
